Hocus Pocus 3 Creator Teases the Sanderson Sisters’ Revenge In opposition to Salem

In a recent interview with Collider, Hocus Pocus 3 writer Jen D’Angelo opened up about their potential plans for the upcoming installment of the iconic horror comedy franchise. D’Angelo teased that the Sandersons sisters might finally get their revenge on Salem after two failed plans.

“With the Sanderson sisters, the thing that makes them so fun is that they really are like herding cats,” She said. “So I’m like, ‘Yes, Winifred learned a very valuable lesson. She loves her sisters more than anything in the world,’ but she will also just immediately get distracted by whatever’s put in front of her. So if you dangle the carrot of a potential revenge against Salem, which she has always wanted, she might have a backslide where she gets singularly focused on the wrong goal again.”

What Happened to the Sanderson Sisters in Hocus Pocus 2?

At the end of Hocus Pocus 2, Winnie ultimately realizes that her sisters are far more important to her than becoming an all-powerful witch. She decided to give up her powers in hopes of rejoining her beloved sisters Sarah and Mary after they faded away due to the effects of reciting a forbidden spell. Further details about the fan-favorite witchy trio’s return in the threequel are being kept under wraps.

Like D’Angelo, Hocus Pocus 3 will also feature the return of The Proposal director Anne Fletcher, who took over directing duties for the Disney+ sequel from Adam Shankman. Besides Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy, the sequel also starred Doug Jones, Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham, Belisa Escobedo, Hannah Waddingham, Tony Hale, Sam Richardson, Juju Brener, Froy Gutierrez, Taylor Paige Henderson, and Nina Kitchen.
