Brenda Risquez is deliberate in her use of texture, density, and coloration in her boldly embroidered portraits impressed by friends and common tradition icons. Numerous patches of prolonged, single-stitch rows and rounded tufts map onto the matters’ faces, many of which present the textile artist’s affinity for pronounced, single-hued cheeks. Her hoop-bound portraits are expressive and dotted with playful elements, like a jaw outlined in pink or highlights stitched in good, geometric shapes.

Textiles have carried out an outsized place in Risquez’s ingenious trajectory—she holds ranges in Good Arts from the School of Granada and Textile Art work from the School of Art work of Granada—although she solely started embroidering throughout the ultimate 5 years.
