A new poster for Hurry Up Tomorrow sets a release date for the upcoming movie starring Abel Tesfaye, also known as The Weekend, and Scream’s Jenna Ortega.

Hurry Up Tomorrow is a new psychological thriller directed by Trey Edwards Shults. It is based on The Weekend’s sixth studio album of the same name, which will be released in January 2025.

An official poster for Hurry Up Tomorrow sets an official release date for the film. It will hit theaters on May 16, 2025, from Lionsgate.

At this time, the only other movie with a wide May 16, 2025, release date is the sixth film in the Final Destination franchise, titled Final Destination: Bloodlines. Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts* is releasing earlier that month on May 2, 2025, while a handful of movies — Michel Gondry’s Golden, the Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell-starring A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, and Clown in a Cornfield — are being released on May 9, 2025.

Following the May 16 weekend, Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning and the live-action Lilo & Stitch remake both arrive on May 23, 2025.

Plot details for Hurry Up Tomorrow remain under wraps at this time. Manic Phase, Reza Fahimalong, Harrison Kreiss, and the late Kevin Turen produce the film, while Ortega, Shults, Michael Rapino, Ryan Kroft, Wassim “Sal” Slaiby, and Harrison Huffman serve as executive producers.

The cast of Hurry Up Tomorrow also includes Barry Keoghan, who received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor nomination for his role in 2022’s The Banshees of Inisherin. The music for the film is provided by The Weekend and Daniel Lopatin.

Shults’ previous filmography includes 2015’s Krisha, 2017’s It Comes at Night, and 2019’s Waves.
