Wolf Guy Video Displays Christopher Abbott’s Grisly Transformation

The modern adaptation of Wolf Man has unveiled a new video showing Christopher Abbott’s gruesome transformation as the titular monster.

Wolf Man is an upcoming reboot of the classic George Waggner-directed 1941 horror movie. It is written and directed by Upgrade, The Invisible Man, and Insidious Chapter 3 filmmaker Leigh Whannell

What is Wolf Man about?

The latest installment in The Wolf Man franchise will center on a family’s relocation from San Francisco to Oregon after the patriarch, Blake (played by Abbott), inherited his childhood home. In addition to Abbott, Wolf Man also stars Julia Garner (Apartment 7A, Inventing Anna) as Blake’s wife Charlotte, and Matilda Firth (Coma, Subservience) as Blake and Charlotte’s daughter, Ginger. The rest of the cast includes Sam Jaeger, Ben Prendergast, Benedict Hardie, Zac Chandler, Beatriz Romilly, and Milo Cawthorne.

The highly anticipated reboot was originally scheduled for theatrical release on October 15, 2024, but was later pushed to January 17, 2025. It is rated R for “bloody violent content and grisly images” as well as “some language.”

The official synopsis reads: “The film follows Blake, a San Francisco husband and father, who inherits his remote childhood home in rural Oregon after his own father vanishes and is presumed dead. With his marriage to his high-powered wife, Charlotte, fraying, Blake persuades Charlotte to take a break from the city and visit the property with their young daughter, Ginger. But as the family approaches the farmhouse in the dead of night, they’re attacked by an unseen animal and, in a desperate escape, barricade themselves inside the home as the creature prowls the perimeter. As the night stretches on, however, Blake begins to behave strangely, transforming into something unrecognizable, and Charlotte will be forced to decide whether the terror within their house is more lethal than the danger without.”

Wolf Man hits theaters on January 17, 2025.
