James Marsden has been a working actor in Hollywood for over three decades and he’s played countless roles in movies and TV shows – but there’s one dream role he’s still hoping to get.
The 51-year-old star revealed that he wants to play Frank Sinatra in a biopic. Marsden revealed the news during an interview with the New York Post that was published on Tuesday, February 25, where he told the outlet, “I’ve always loved emulating some of the old crooners, like Bobby Darin and Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin,” before adding, “I always thought there were so many interesting stories of Frank Sinatra’s life that could be played. And for whatever reason, you’ve never really seen a movie about him.”

Later in the article, the actor explained, “To do a biopic like what Jamie Foxx did with Ray Charles would be a lot of fun. I would love to,” he continued. “And you’re actually using your singing voice, as well.” Marsden also told the outlet, “I just think there’s so many stories that could be told about that man.” He expressed an interest in telling “some of the really tortured and darker stories” as well as some of the more “uplifting ones.” The Sonic The Hedgehog 3 star went on to admit that he had never “really done a biopic” before.
Sinatra is regarded as one of the greatest entertainers of the 20th century and sold an estimated 150 million records globally. The “New York, New York” singer passed away from a heart attack in Los Angeles, California, in May 1998 with his wife, Barbara Sinatra, at his side. He was 82 at the time of his death.
