Sydney Sweeney Will get Twisted With Amanda Seyfried In Mystery

With shocking twists and fiery chemistry between the leads, this movie promises to leave audiences breathless.

PEOPLE recently gave fans an exclusive first look at the movie, which sees Sydney Sweeney play Millie, a woman desperate to escape her troubled past and rebuild her life.

When she gets a job as a live-in maid for the wealthy Winchesters, played by Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar, she believes her future is finally turning around.

However, what seems like a dream quickly becomes a nightmare as Millie finds herself caught in a web of secrets and power games inside the family’s lavish mansion.

Speaking about her character, Sweeney admitted the role immediately excited her.

“Millie is exactly the type of character I love to play: complex, strong and with a little something up her sleeve,” she said. “I can’t wait for fans to see how hard we all worked to bring ‘The Housemaid’ to life.”

At the heart of “The Housemaid” is the tense relationship between Sydney Sweeney’s Millie and Seyfried’s Nina Winchester.

While Nina appears to have the perfect life on the outside, director Paul Feig teased that she is “a portrait of unpredictability and extremes.”

That makes her battle of wills with Millie one of the most gripping parts of the film.

Seyfried promised the movie would deliver the same drama that made the book a bestseller.

“The film captures everything fans loved about the book — the secrets, the tension and the twists,” she explained. “We can’t wait for audiences to immerse themselves in the experience.”

With Sklenar as Andrew Winchester, Michele Morrone as groundskeeper Enzo, and Elizabeth Perkins as Andrew’s sharp-tongued mother, the movie builds a dangerous atmosphere where no one is safe from suspicion.

Behind the scenes, Sweeney and Seyfried earned high praise from Feig, who described their on-screen chemistry as “simply through the roof.”

He added, “They are both such powerful talents and work so well off each other that you very quickly get sucked into their onscreen world.”

The filmmaker also promised plenty of surprises, noting, “The Housemaid is pure entertainment – a sexy and surprising rollercoaster ride of a movie that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats. While Sydney Sweeney prepares to stun fans with her upcoming movie, the 27-year-old is entangled in a controversy involving her “Anyone But You” co-star Glen Powell and his ex, Gigi Paris.

Recall that the model revealed that her split from the actor Glen Powell in April 2024 came amid swirling rumors that he was romantically involved with Sweeney.

Speaking on the “Too Much” podcast in June 2025, Paris shared that she felt deeply hurt and disrespected when Powell never publicly denied the chatter.

She said she was torn between pretending everything was fine and standing up for herself, and ultimately chose the latter.

“I could either pretend like I was going along with everything… or stand up for myself and say, ‘No, I’m actually not okay with this, and I’m walking away,’” she explained.

Paris added that she hoped Powell and Sweeney were genuinely in love because she was shattered by the news.

According to her, if something real did exist, it would at least make the heartbreak worth it.

Three months after her confession, Powell finally spoke out to address the chatter surrounding his breakup with Paris and the rumors that Sweeney played a role.

The actor told GQ Magazine that while he respected Paris’s feelings, he saw things differently.

“Everybody’s always going to have their own narrative… and she’s welcome to it,” Powell explained.

He noted that breakups often come with contrasting stories, adding, “When two people break up, they each go to their own brunch and they will each tell their version of the story.”

Powell’s remarks made it clear that he wasn’t placing blame on Sweeney and didn’t fully agree with Paris’s take.

Instead, he emphasized that despite the media storm surrounding his co-star, he was focused on moving forward in Hollywood while keeping parts of his private life out of the spotlight.
