Brilliant Minds Season 2 started with plenty of anticipation, and within two episodes, the story moved into uncharted territory with the introduction of a potential new chief. The previous episode confirmed that Dr. Oliver Wolf’s mother, Muriel, was going to leave the hospital. This meant that the hospital needed a new Chief Medical Officer. However, the latest episode revealed that the one taking the post was someone few had expected.

Who is Bronx General’s new Chief Medical Officer in Brilliant Minds Season 2?
The third episode of Brilliant Minds Season 2 confirmed that after Muriel’s departure, the new Chief Medical Officer will be Dr. Josh Nichols. This means there will be a significant shift in Josh and Oliver’s relationship going forward.
Carol previously pointed out to Wolf that he might be happy about his mother leaving. But the new officer could be even worse. It turns out that the new officer is already making things complicated for Wolf.
In this episode, Wolf learns that Josh will be the new CMO at the end of the episode. His mother summons him to her office, where he finds this out. It is clear that Josh and Wolf have not been in sync. Their differences began after Wolf missed a gala where Josh was being honored.
Showrunner Michael Grassi shed light on their relationship in Brilliant Minds while speaking to TV Line. He said, “I think both Josh and Oliver are really complicated guys. I think they have a lot to navigate, and it’s a bit of a ride with them this season.” He added, “They’re going to go through stuff this season, but there is a really deep respect there and a love there. And I think you see that in all of their scenes together, even as they’re navigating all of the complexity that they’re going through. I love Zach and Teddy and their chemistry, and this relationship is such an important part of the show, and we’ll continue to explore it, but in some surprising ways.”
Josh taking over as the new Chief will likely make things more interesting in the coming weeks.
