A Jujutsu Kaisen voice actor recently shared whether Itadori Yuji and Kugisaki Nobara will have a romance in the anime. Yuji and Nobara are two of the central characters in the manga by Gege Akutami, as well as the anime. Currently, the Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution Compilation Film is playing in Japanese theaters.
Don’t expect Nobara and Yuji’s romance on Jujutsu Kaisen
Actor Adam McArthur, who voices the character of Yuji in the English dub of Jujutsu Kaisen, recently revealed whether Yuji and Nobara will have a romance in the anime.
While speaking to ScreenRant at the Anime Pasadena 2025, McArthur stated that the duo will continue to share a strong friendship. He said, “I think it’s purely platonic. What I love about JJK is that we almost don’t have time to consider romance. There’s a task at hand, and whatever is right in front of them is what they’re dealing with.”
McArthur further added, “Friendships are such underrated relationships—we’re always looking for it to be more. But Yuji, Nobara, and Megumi have this bond through trauma and everything they’ve experienced, and I think that’s really special.”
Nobara, Yuji, and Megumi’s trio has been one of the key pillars of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime and manga. The official romantic relationship confirmed in the manga is Maki Zenin and Yuta Okkotsu.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution hit Japanese theaters on November 7, 2025, and will release in the United States on December 5, 2025. It features the Shibuya Incident arc of Season 2 and 2 episodes of Season 3’s Culling Game arc.
