Josh Hutcherson & The First Omen Director’s Horror Film Will get First Main points


The First Omen director is making an A24 horror movie with Josh Hutcherson.

Released in 2024, The First Omen was helmed by Arkasha Stevenson in her feature film directorial debut.. Stevenson co-wrote the script for The Omen prequel movie with Tim Smith and Keith Thomas, while the project stars Nell Tiger Free as Margaret, Ralph Ineson as Father Brennan, and Sônia Braga.

What do we know about the new Josh Hutcherson horror movie?

Per Deadline, Stevenson is now working with Hutcherson to make an untitled A24 horror movie. In addition to the Hunger Games actor, the project will star Frank Dillane, Caleb Landry Jones, and Whitmer Thomas.

“While the logline remains under wraps, the film reportedly centers on a bachelor party that spirals into terror,” the article reads.

The script comes from Stevenson and Smith. Lars Knudsen and Emily Hildner are producing the movie for Square Peg, while Ari Aster will serve as an executive producer. Tim Smith, Harrison Huffman, and Christina D’Souza additionally serve as producers. A release date has not yet been set.

Hutcherson will soon be seen reprising his role as Mike Schmidt in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, which hits theaters on December 5. He’s also currently starring as Dylan in I Love LA, the new Rachel Sennott comedy show that premiered on HBO Max earlier this month.

Dillane is known for playing a young Tom Riddle in 2009’s Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, while he’s also starred in 2015’s In the Heart of the Sea and 2019’s How to Build a Girl, among other titles. He has been cast as John Willoughby in the new Sense and Sensibility movie arriving in 2026.

Jones portrayed Sean Cassidy/Banshee in 2011’s X-Men: First Class. His other film projects include 2010’s The Last Exorcism, 2017’s The Florida Project, 2017’s Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, 2019’s The Dead Don’t Die, 2023’s Dogman, and more. Lastly, Thomas is a comedian who recently appeared in A24’s Friendship and Warner Bros. Pictures’ Weapons, both of which were released this year.
