Hulu’s Submit-Apocalyptic Mystery Returns for Season 2 With Even Higher RT Rating


Hulu‘s popular post-apocalyptic political thriller series Paradise has returned with Season 2, which has drawn an even better Rotten Tomatoes score than Season 1. Dan Fogelman created Paradise, which premiered on January 26, 2025. The plot predominantly revolves around Sterling K. Brown’s Xavier Collins, a Secret Service special agent in charge of guarding the President after an apocalyptic event has forced the remnants of humanity to take shelter inside an underground bunker. The cast also includes Julianne Nicholson, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, and James Marsden.

What critics are saying about Paradise Season 2 in reviews

Paradise Season 2 has drawn largely positive reviews from professional critics. Tim Glanfield
of The Times (UK) noted in his review, “As season two unfolds, the secrets deep below the surface grow darker, the tension ratchets to new levels at each revelation. It may begin in Graceland. But by the time things move on, you can’t help falling in love with this show all over again.”

Meanwhile, CBR‘s Martin Carr stated that Paradise is “one of the most satisfying slices of dystopian drama to hit Hulu since 2023.” Carr added that the series “delivers so many subplots and ties off so many unanswered questions that no one will be disappointed.”

Dais Johnston of Inverse compared Paradise to the iconic ABC sci-fi adventure series Lost. They observed, “And just like Lost before it, Season 2 of Paradise goes from good to great by shifting its focus.”

TheWrap‘s Michel Ghanem stated that the ongoing season of Paradise “proves it has plenty of gas left in the tank, and its writers smash on the plot gas pedal this season for nonstop delight.”

Paradise Season 2 gets a strong score on Rotten Tomatoes

Paradise Season 2 currently has an 89% approval rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes after 28 reviews. In contrast, the first season of the series has an 86% score on the site. While the scores for the second season will likely change as more reviews come in, the present rating indicates that it could be overall better recieved than Season 1.

Season 2 of Paradise debuted on Hulu on February 23, 2026, with the first three episodes. The remaining episodes will air weekly on Mondays.
