The popular psychological thriller series Dark Winds has established itself as a firm fan favorite in the streaming world. The series recently climbed to the top spot on AMC+‘s top 10 chart after its newest season amassed strong viewership in the span of a few weeks. The show has received critical acclaim since its beginning.
Dark Winds leads AMC+ top 10 charts
As of February 26, 2026, Dark Winds, the fourth season of which premiered last week, is the #1 show on AMC+’s top 10 charts (via FlixPatrol).
The series has surpassed the British crime drama Gangs of London, which is at #2, while the comedy film O Brother, Where Art Thou? is at #3. They are followed on the top 10 list by The Day After Tomorrow (#4), Muzzle: City of Wolves (#5), The Mummy (#6), Violent Ends (#7), John Wick: Chapter 4 (#8), The Mummy Returns (#9), and Kingdom (#10).
Dark Winds Season 4 premiered on AMC and AMC+ on February 15, 2026. It will run for eight episodes until April 5, 2026. The story is an adaptation of Tony Hillerman’s sixth crime novel in the Joe Leaphorn/Jim Chee Navajo Tribal Police series, on which the show is based.
Like the previous seasons, Dark Winds Season 4 has garnered a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. It has also garnered positive reviews from critics, who have praised the storytelling and performances.
The series was created by Graham Roland, who previously worked on Mark Wahlberg’s film Mile 22 and on hit shows like Prison Break, Lost, Fringe, and Jack Ryan. Roland has also served as an executive producer on the show alongside Zahn McClarnon, George R.R. Martin, the late Robert Redford, Anne Hillerman, Tina Elmo, and Chris Eyre.
Meanwhile, Vince Calandra served as the showrunner for the first season, while John Wirth has been serving as the showrunner since Season 2.
McClarnon and Kiowa Gordon lead the cast as Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee, while supporting cast members include Jessica Matten, Deanna Allison, Natalie Benally, A Martinez, Andersen Kee, Wade Adakai, and Elva Guerra, among others.
