Calling all Record collectors! VINYLCON! is touching down in New York City for the first time ever next weekend. The much-anticipated two-day record convention will make its debut at Industry City in Brooklyn on June 13 and 14.
VinylCon! will feature more than fifty vendors from across the country bringing tens of thousands of records for a weekend centered around crate digging, collecting and music discovery. If that’s not enough, the Brooklyn edition of VinylCon! will boast an impressive DJ lineup curated by world famous DJ and collector Skeme Richards.
All-vinyl DJ sets will be ongoing throughout the weekend from the likes of Arthur Baker, Edan, Large Professor, Boogie Blind, DJ Prestige, Monk-One, Prince Klassen, Sky Society, DJ Janet Labelle, Scott Matelic, MC Boing Boing, Mr Fine Wine, DJ Visty and Richards.
Founded in Philadelphia in 2024, VinylCon! has rapidly expanded into a multi-city event series connecting collectors, independent vendors, DJs, labels, and music fans through a mutual interest in physical media and intentional, tangible music discovery. Since its launch, the traveling record fair has held overwhelmingly successful events in Los Angeles, Denver, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Atlanta..
“The response we’ve seen around the country has been incredible, and New York always felt like an important city for us. There’s such a deep culture around records here, and we’re excited to finally bring VinylCon! to Brooklyn,” says founder Kobi Waldfogel.
Waldfogel got his start as a cofounder of Denver’s Rocky Mountain Record Show, which was created in 2021 to fill a need in the vinyl record and music community. When he launched VinylCon! he envisioned it as less of a traditional convention more of a gathering that celebrates record collecting culture.
“As a collector and enthusiast myself, I felt like the record fair I wanted to attend simply didn’t exist,” Waldfogel explains. “It’s no secret that records are hot right now and younger people are resonating with the analog experience. VinylCon! is designed to be welcoming and engaging for the ‘vinyl-curious’ newcomers but also pass the smell test for the veteran collectors with more discerning tastes.”
In addition to the aforementioned vendors and vinyl DJs, the Brooklyn event — which will be held at 5-2-A at Industry City — will feature food and drinks, sponsor activations, giveaways, and more.
The NYC debut of VinylCon! arrives at a time when momentum for vinyl nationwide is at its peak of resurgence. According to the Recording Industry Association of America, vinyl revenues have surpassed $1 billion in recent years and represents the continued demand for physical music formats and analog listening experiences.
Multiple ticket options are available depending on when collectors want access to the show. Saturday hours run from 10 a.m.–7 p.m., with Early Entry tickets available at 10 a.m. General admission begins at 12 p.m., while discounted late-entry tickets start at 3 p.m. on Saturday and run throughout Sunday.
