Logo New Day’s Tom Holland Drops a Cryptic Trace That Adjustments The entirety

Spider-Man actor Tom Holland has dropped an intriguing hint about the superhero’s secret identity. Spider-Man: Brand New Day follows No Way Home, where the hero got Doctor Strange to brainwash the entire world to forget Peter Parker ever existed.

What did Tom Holland say about Spider-Man: Brand New Day?

In a recent interview, Holland said that nobody remembers Peter Parker is Spider-Man except for “one person.” When asked whether any of the Avengers remember Peter Parker (via IGN Benelux), Holland said, “No one remembers Peter Parker is Spider-Man apart from one person.”

The only Avenger confirmed in the film is Bruce Banner, or the Hulk. In the trailers, Peter has to reintroduce himself to Banner, who has no recollection of him. Following the recent comment, fans are now wondering who else might retain memories of Peter Parker’s past existence. Doctor Strange, who cast the spell himself, told Parker that even he wouldn’t remember who he was before doing so.

The Marvel comics dealt with a similar conundrum in Immortal Hulk: Great Power. The comic’s story follows One More Day, in which Peter strikes a deal with Mephisto to rewrite reality and undo many events. When Spider-Man later crosses paths with the Hulk in Immortal Hulk, the Green Goliath still remembers the wall-crawler’s secret identity. It’s revealed that the mind-wiping spell only affected Banner, so Hulk, who is a separate personality from the scientist, retained his memories.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day deals with the fallout of Peter’s decision to make the entire world forget about him. The film’s marketing has shown Peter living a solitary life as New York’s web-swinging defender, which also means he has to watch MJ and Ned Leeds from a distance. The film’s story follows Peter as he develops abnormal abilities when his dual identities clash, resulting in a DNA mutation.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day releases on July 31, 2026.
