VisionQuest Introduces a Utterly Distinctive Workforce of Avengers Ahead of Doomsday

Marvel is giving Vision a strange new kind of support system, and it has nothing to do with a traditional superhero lineup. VisionQuest brings together several artificial intelligences inside Vision’s Mindscape, turning their different personalities and lessons into something resembling an Avengers team.

VisionQuest brings ‘AI Avengers’ to MCU

During a visit to Pinewood Studios, ScreenRant‘s Lewis Glazebrook got an inside look at VisionQuest while the production team was busy filming the upcoming series. The set visit offered a glimpse at what Marvel has in store, including the reveal that the show will introduce a completely new Avengers team ahead of Avengers: Doomsday.

The band becomes especially important when Vision faces a problem he cannot solve alone. FRIDAY, EDITH, and the other AI companions each approach humanity from a different angle, allowing them to teach Vision while also functioning as a team. A filmed scene offered a closer look at how that works.

Ultron creates the immediate crisis by taking control of Vision’s physical body outside the Mindscape and locking the AIs away. Their escape attempt quickly reveals how differently they think.

FRIDAY sticks to her security protocols and warns that attacking Ultron’s firewall could make things worse. EDITH takes the opposite approach, encouraging Vision to stop playing defense and confront Ultron directly.

Vision gets more than a simple disagreement out of the clash. The confrontation gives him a crucial lead on Ultron’s activities outside the digital space, while fresh details about the enigmatic Paladin begin to surface.

Tommy’s future in the MCU could be just as interesting as his brother’s, especially if Marvel eventually pulls the trigger on a Young Avengers story. His super-speed is a different matter. The comics make that ability a major part of Tommy’s identity, but VisionQuest has not shown its hand yet. When Glazebrook pressed Rauridh Mollica on whether viewers would see the power, he refused to spill the beans, saying, “This is a mystery that I am not comfortable answering.”

For now, VisionQuest is keeping Tommy’s abilities under wraps while giving Vision’s AI Avengers an exciting role in the new saga.
