Snapped: Bumbershoot Arts & Track Competition Lighting Up Seattle (A Picture Essay)

Bumbershoot Arts & Music Festival once again returned to its home at the Seattle Center, where the iconic cultural event began in 1971. With the iconic Space Needle gracing the horizon, attendees got their share of punk, hip-hop, indie, alternative, and electronic music, along with experiences in visual art, fashion, food, comedy, skateboarding, wrestling and more.

Showcasing an array of subgenres, the lineup included the likes of Seattle’s own Death Cab for Cutie, Turnstile, Lucy Dacus, Blood Orange, Bikini Kill, De La Soul, Orville Peck, Chase & Status, Sudan Archives, ATARASHII GAKKO!, TOKiMONSTA, Peaches, and Noname. Festivalgoers were also treated to a cat circus, the pro wrestling madness of BUMBERMANIA!, the diverse fashion program from Vancouver Indigenous Fashion Week, the High Fashion High youth runway show, bmx and skate sessions, and even an underwater performance art of Una The Mermaid.
