Netflix has announced the release date for Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2, the live-action TV show based on the popular animated series.
“Avatar: The Last Airbender follows Aang, the young Avatar, as he learns to master the four elements—Water, Earth, Fire, and Air—to restore balance to a world threatened by the terrifying Fire Nation,” the logline reads.
When is the Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 release date?
Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 arrives on Netflix on June 25, 2026. The streamer unveiled a new behind-the-scenes video and poster for the upcoming episodes.
“Now that we’re past Season 1, we’re into the real meat of the story,” Prince Zuko actor Dallas Liu says in the video. “And especially with the fight scenes that we have this season, it’s mind-blowing to see how much everyone has grown.”
Avatar: The Last Airbender stars Gordon Cormier as Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, Liu as Zuko, Elizabeth Yu as Azula, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Iroh, Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai, Momona Tamada as Ty Lee, and Thalia Tran as Mai.
Joining the Season 2 cast are Miya Cech as Toph, Chin Han as Long Feng, Hoa Xuande as Professor Zei, Justin Chien as King Kuei, Amanda Zhou as Joo Dee, Crystal Yu as Lady Beifong, Kelemete Misipeka as The Boulder, Lourdes Faberes as General Sung, Rekha Sharma as Amita, Terry Chen as Jeong Jeong, Dolly de Leon as Lo and Li, Lily Gao as Ursa, Madison Hu as Fei, and Dichen Lachman as Yangchen.
“After a bittersweet victory saving the Northern Water Tribe from the invading Fire Nation, Avatar Aang, Katara, and Sokka regroup and set off on a mission to convince the elusive Earth King to aid in their battle against fearsome Fire Lord Ozai,” the official synopsis reads. “Their journey to the impenetrable city of Ba Sing Se, home of the Earth King, is treacherous but also fruitful — Aang discovers Toph, an audacious young master of earthbending, and convinces her to help him add earthbending to his powers of airbending and waterbending.”
Avatar: The Last Airbender is based on the beloved Nickelodeon animated series. Christine Boylan is an executive producer and writer. Jabbar Raisani is an executive producer and director, alongside directors Anu Menon, Amit Gupta, and Hiromi Kamata. Additional executive producers include Dan Lin, Ryan Halprin, Brendan Ferguson, and Albert Kim.
Netflix has already renewed Avatar: The Last Airbender for a third and final season.
