Shania Twain is continuing the countdown to her first new album in three years with one more look back at the memories that shaped her. Ahead of the July 24 Republic Nashville release of Little Miss Twain, the country/pop icon has unveiled “Faded Blue Jeans,” a guitar-driven duet with unlikely guest star Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme.
As previously reported, Little Miss Twain finds Twain revisiting the people, places and experiences that informed her earliest years, blending country, pop, rock, soul and bluegrass into what she has described as her most personal album to date.
Written solely by Twain, “Faded Blue Jeans” reflects on the intensity of first love through the lens of one of her own teenage relationships. Fueled by gritty guitars and a bluesy rock swagger, the song channels the music that shaped Twain’s youth while revisiting the confidence, freedom and idealism of adolescence. Homme adds an extra dose of grit to the track, marking one of the album’s most unexpected collaborations.
The song follows the previously released singles “Dirty Rosie” and the autobiographical, Tanya Tucker-featuring title track. Fans can also snag a newly announced Little Miss Twain picture disc featuring artwork inspired by the new single, available through Twain’s official store.
After ending a 15-year recording hiatus with 2017’s Now, Twain returned again in 2023 with Queen of Me, which launched a massive international arena tour. She just wrapped a run of summer roadwork that included opening for Harry Styles at London’s Wembley Stadium.
