Christopher Nolan‘s The Odyssey has crossed another major box office milestone. After becoming the biggest opening weekend of his career, the movie has continued its strong box office run. The film’s latest box office milestone puts it ahead of several major Marvel and Star Wars releases.
According to Variety, The Odyssey has earned more than $700 million worldwide in its first 12 days of release. The movie has generated $320.5 million domestically and $407.4 million in international markets. As a result, it has become the fourth-highest-grossing movie of 2026 after Toy Story 5 ($1.02 billion), Michael ($1.016 billion), and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie ($1.011 billion).
The film has reached the $700 million milestone faster than several blockbuster hits, including Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Where does The Odyssey rank among the fastest-grossing movies?
The Odyssey reached $700 million in just 12 days, making it one of the fastest movies to hit the milestone. For instance, Avengers: Endgame and Star Wars: The Force Awakens took 16 days to hit the milestone at the global box office. Spider-Man: No Way Home reached the milestone in 32 days, while James Cameron’s Avatar took 72 days.
As the fourth-highest-grossing film of 2026, the movie will soon join the billion-dollar club. The Odyssey could face its biggest challenge yet when Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters on July 31. The Marvel film is expected to deliver one of the biggest openings of the year. However, the film continues to perform strongly at the box office in its third week and is expected to make $50-$60 million by the weekend.
The film also has another major boost on the horizon. The Odyssey will debut in China on August 14, including a release across nearly 800 IMAX screens. Earlier in its run, the film also recorded the biggest Tuesday and Thursday grosses of Christopher Nolan’s career.
