A Halloween haunted-house attraction turns deadly in the new trailer for A24‘s upcoming mystery thriller movie Slayground. The film is helmed by the Rebel Ridge and Green Room director Jeremy Saulnier, and stars Digger’s Sophie Wilde and the Gotham actor known for playing The Riddler.
“Scare-actor “Metal Mike” Graves wakes up in a haunted attraction surrounded by the dead bodies of his co-workers with no memory of how they got there. As a state-wide manhunt closes in, he races to uncover the truth – even if the trail leads straight back to him,” says the official synopsis.

What happens in the Slayground trailer?
Previously titled October, the film is set around Halloween and blends slasher and action-horror elements. The trailer features security-camera footage of people entering a haunted-house attraction filled with gruesome props, including severed heads, a dismembered figure on a bed, and blood-splattered walls, as seen in the earlier teaser.
The situation turns deadly when a huge, masked figure wielding an axe and several ghostlike creatures begin hunting the visitors. Amid jump scares and scenes of visitors trying to escape, the trailer shows the axe-wielding figure brutally killing someone. Whoever is stuck in the haunted house must fight their way to escape multiple killers lurking within.
Saulnier is also credited as the writer and producer of the movie. The themes of his upcoming movie resemble his previous survival horror flicks, Green Room and Murder Party, where a group of people must escape a deadly space.
Slayground also stars Imogen Poots, James Badge Dale, Chase Sui Wonders, Matty Matheson, Young Mazino, and Stephen Root. A new poster for Saulnier’s thriller was also released. It features a face graphic and a count of the days since the last accident.
Saulnier produced the film alongside Eli Bush, Richard Peete, and Skei Saulnier. Executive producers include Macon Blair, Ronald Bronstein, Traci Carlson, Elliott Coley, Tracey Landon, and Josh Safdie.
Slayground is scheduled to release in theaters on January 29, 2026.
