Area of the Dragon Will get Sudden HBO Max Addition Subsequent Week

HBO’s House of the Dragon will soon be accessible to a whole new audience. The Game of Thrones prequel is opening its doors to more people ahead of its third upcoming season.

What is House of the Dragon’s surprising HBO Max addition?

HBO has announced that it will bring American Sign Language support to both seasons of House of the Dragon. The announcement comes in celebration of Global Accessibility Awareness Day. The first season of the show with ASL will debut next week, on May 29, 2026. It will be followed by Season 2 with ASL on June 15, 2026.

Better yet, fans looking forward to the third season won’t have to wait for ASL support. House of the Dragon Season 3 with ASL will premiere alongside new episodes of the series as they release in the US and EMEA.

The first season of the show will be performed by ASL interpreter Landen Gonzales, who performed as Deaf Tunny in Deaf West’s American Idiot. The second season will be performed by Sophia Morales, who dubbed Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and Minecraft with ASL. Both Gonzales and Morales will perform ASL for the third season. HBO revealed that Justin Jackerson will serve as director of ASL across all seasons. Jackerson directed the ASL version of Wuthering Heights.

HBO’s The Last of Us with ASL was the first series to debut in ASL with its series premiere, followed by an impressive library of ASL dubs of films from the Warner Bros. library. This includes films like Sinners and Barbie. The network noted that Barbie has streamed for more than 9 million hours since the debut of its ASL release.

The new season of House of the Dragon is getting even deadlier, after recasting one of the Targaryens. The show is expected to end with a fourth season, which has yet to be announced.

House of the Dragon stars Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, Matthew Needham, James Norton, Tom Bennett, Kieran Bew, Kurt Egyiawan, Freddie Fox, Clinton Liberty, Gayle Rankin, Abubakar Salim, Tom Cullen, Tommy Flanagan, Dan Fogler, Joplin Sibtain, and Barry Sloane.
